You know it’s 1994 again when

the Today show mistakenly reports that 50 million people have signed up for Second Life. They actually say it twice and put it in print!

Fortunately this Living inside a Second Life segment which obsessed on and on about the potential for addiction, was balanced out somewhat by another segment - Virtual worlds have real popularity with Matt Lauer and Electric Sheep CEO Sibley Verbeck. I heard about the Today show piece via an old-fashioned telephone link from the management of the artist formerly known as Sushi-Funk(and you though he was just an unimportant character in Snow Crash) :-).
