The Virtual Is Real - Just Do The Math
“In Second Life, we’re making Reuters part of a new generation,” Reuters Chief Executive Tom Glocer said in a statement. “We’re playing an active role in this community by bringing the outside world into Second Life and vice versa.”
There is a lot of reporting to do where the virtual world meets the real world.
This sounds like The Meshverse convergence to me! I saw this on CNBC TV today at lunch. The reporter was trying hard to get her head around the ideas but she was clear about one thing - Second Life has nearly a million members and is growing at 20% a month. This reminds me so much of the early days of the Web when people were struggling with the ideas - giving away the browser, buying books online etc. not realizing the power of exponential growth.
